Lean and angular, a wine whose fruity ripeness stops at citrus and apples. Yet the structure is interesting, with high acidity. Lees and oak add a touch of complexity. Finishes slightly bitter. —S.H. 1 Note

Defines this varietal with its gingersnap flavors, and a crisp backbone of steely acidity, courtesy of cool growing conditions. It’s dryish, and very clean. A bit one-dimensional, though. —S.H. 1 Note

Starts off with pretty litchi, plum, citrus and melon notes and sports good body and acidity with a well-rounded mouthfeel. Has loads of minerals on the finish. 1 Note

Odd as it may sound, it smells like coconut cream pie with a baked meringue topping, all swimming in apricot purée. It’s sweet but not achingly so, at 7.1% residual sugar, with enough acidity to balance it. It has a luscious, creamy mouthfeel. It seems young and tight despite the opulence; probably it will improve with age in a cool cellar. Best Buy. 1 Note

A blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, and very pale, with the faint pink color of onionskin, it has delicate aromas of strawberry, rose petal, and vanilla. Packs quite a punch in the mouth, with upfront flavors and a soft, semi-dry creaminess. This is a highly enjoyable and very versatile wine. 1 Note
