Cool coastal conditions make for a wine that straddles the ripeness line, with notes of blackberries and earthy, herbal notes of tobacco, sage and cranberries. Lavish oak softens and fattens. The wine is very dry, and there are some unresolved tannins that a year or so of aging might soften. 1 Note

From a warmer, inland part of this appellation, which probably should have its own AVA, comes this slightly raisined Zin, which is reminiscent of many inland valley reds. It’s rather hot, soft and Porty. 1 Note
