This Cabernet Sauvignon, finished with 11% Cabernet Franc, is textural and refined, enhanced with floral character (violets), and tight and spicy fruit. It’s compact, with even tighter barrel flavors laced in. Tannins are graceful and proportionate; the wine has breed and elegance. 1 Note

Canyon's Edge Sauvignon Blanc -2008 (WE-120561)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

A sharp, just this side of volatile Sauvignon Blanc, this is already showing some tawny tones though it’s only a 2008. Perhaps the clear glass bottle is the culprit, but the wine is pretty far down the aging curve. Grassy and herbal, with a quick, sharp finish. 1 Note

Soft, dark and roundly fruity, this easy going red would be a fine companion to spaghetti, pizza, burgers or almost any comfort food. Mostly Merlot, with Cabernet, Syrah and Cab Franc filling in the rest, it has enough stuffing, tannin and barrel toast to stand up to a cold autumn evening. 1 Note

Columbia Crest Chardonnay -2006 (WE-87011)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Columbia Crest, Washington state’s premier producer of value wines, has introduced a fourth tier into its lineup. Dubbed H3, the wines focus on fruit from the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. The grapes have optimal acid, and the flavors are ripe but firm. The fruit is a bit lean, but tangy, and there is an underlying minerality that adds persistence. 1 Note
