Bright aromas of apricots, peaches and honey. Apple, nutmeg and honeydew melon flavors. The mouth buzzes with crisp acidity and a zing that makes it seem quasicarbonated. The finish builds to a sweet-tart crescendo. A tight and classy off-dry wine, perfect for Chinese and other Asian foods. 1 Note

Bel Arbor Chardonnay -2000 (WE-14149)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

Has some noticeable oak, with the expected vanilla, smoke and spicy notes floating above tangerine fruit flavors. The texture is creamy and full, although low acidity makes it flabby and robs it of life. It’s a common wine but, at this price, it’s pretty enough for your next block party. —S.H. 1 Note

Has pretty flavors, slightly sweet, of peaches and citrus fruits, with hefty acidity, the kind that scours the palate. Smells like freshly mowed hay. This is a likeable, simple wine, at a very good price. —S.H. 1 Note

Mainly that old white standby, French Colombard. It will never make a great wine but this one isn’t bad. Sort of like Sauvignon Blanc, filled with tart Meyer lemon fruit flavors and very crisp acidity. It’s got a touch of sugar that balances it out nicely. —S.H. 1 Note
