Aromas of lemon drop, butter, dust and fresh-cut wood are sizable, as is the palate, which pushes mango, peach and pineapple. It’s a fairly big mouthful overall, with somewhat of a waxy feel. Good but only reaches modest heights. 1 Note

This is a single-vineyard 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that’s dark as night and still closed up. It wants to be big, but the fruit is presently in the rear, and you have to search for it. Once you find it, it’s fairly clean cassis and blackberry, with pronounced oak backing it up. Nicely herbal and cool, the finish turns fairly tannic. Get after it next year. 1 Note

Dark violet in color, and thick like syrup. Aromas of blueberries, graham cracker and Coca-Cola seem sweet, while the palate is soft and one-dimensional, offering mostly muscular berry fruit but not much complexity or balancing characteristics. Has its merits, but given its track record it seems off form. 1 Note

Very supple on the palate, this Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot blend has dense black cherry aromas and flavors framed by dill oak. Earth notes add a touch of complexity and the finish is full, with tobacco-earth accents. Attractive and easy-to-like as it is, but the wine seems to have the potential for more nuance and dimension than it presently shows. 1 Note
