The kind of wine that should be served cold, at beachside getaways—it shows coconut and butterscotch aromas, and tastes like a tropical fruit cocktail. It’s an easy quaffer, and a little sweet. It won’t win the hearts of wine collectors, but will go over very well with the party crowd. 1 Note

Smells and tastes a little past its peak already. Red fruit is on its way downhill, and is joined with some meaty, earthy flavors on the palate. Finishes flat. 1 Note

The Nugan Vision Cabernet Sauvignon over-delivers for its price point. The fruit expression is bold and ripe, with intense raspberry and blackberry liqueur scents followed by tangy cherry pie filling in the mouth. Ends up on a lingering mocha note. Drink now to 2011. 1 Note

Squarely in the fruit-forward, über-ripe camp, the Nugan Shiraz is a very good example of the style. The nose explodes with plum fruit, backed up by sweet vanilla tones while the palate shows dense berry fruit, and winds down to a black char note. Drink now. 1 Note

The Riverina is a warm, inland region, but this Chardonnay retains decent freshness, coming across with bright pear and citrus aromas and flavors that carry just a tinge of struck flint. Drink now. 1 Note
