A 70-30 blend of Marsanne and Viognier, the Alliance is an interesting wine but is not one with a lot of concentrated flavor and verve. Offers aromas of wheat cracker and sour apple candy, and flavors of peach, flowers and olive oil. Smooth and slightly oily on the palate; its texture thickens on the finish. 500 cases produced. 1 Note

Chambers’s entry-level Rutherglen Muscat is a wonderful wine in its own right, and a relative bargain among sweet wines. It’s floral and berry-like on the nose, with a viscous mouthfeel and caramel flavors that carry hints of berry fruit, honey and citrus. 1 Note

From one of Rutherglen's most noted producers, there are lovely apple, cinammon and peach flavors on the palate that fade into a buttery finish. There's more apple on the nose, plus pickling spices, prunes and pickle-barrel. An odd mix, but still an enticing one. 1 Note

Smells alcoholic at first, but after a few minutes in the glass the aromas are of charred wood. Feels somewhat rough, or rustic, in the mouth—not the smooth unctuousness that other Oz dessert wines have—with burnt sugar/caramel and stewed fruit flavors. Smooths out on the finish. 1 Note
