Infinitus Viura -2006 (WE-71481)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

This is a nice little Viura (with 15% Chardonnay) that smells nutty and smooth and tastes of tangy citrus and other white stone fruits. It has more acidity than body and it locks onto that citrusy profile and doesn’t let go. But overall it’s a good quaff for the price. 1 Note

Dominio de Eguren Rosé -2008 (WE-106561)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

Fresh and clean for the most part, with light raspberry and strawberry aromas. It’s a little cloying on the palate, but the flavors of citrus and melon, while briney, are lasting and move in the right direction. A good buy made from the obscure Bobal variety and Tempranillo. 1 Note

Dominio de Eguren Red Blend -2007 (WE-106566)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Magenta-colored, berry loaded and fresh, all of which help what could be a pedestrian wine reach a higher plane. Sweet cherry and plum flavors mix with snappy acidity and good structure, and overall you get a refreshing, satisfying wine with genuine appeal. 1 Note

Dominio de Eguren White Blend -2008 (WE-106562)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

For $7 this white blend from central Spain does about as well as can be hoped for. Transparent in color, with aromas of children’s vitamin and apple, it’s nothing special but it is wet, drinkable and tasty. Flavors of green apple and citrus lead to a dry, quick finish. 1 Note

Osborne Cabernet Sauvignon-Tempranillo -2000 (WE-19513)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

A tasty quaff from the well-known Sherry and Port house with good color, plummy aromas and a soft yet full mouth feel. The ripe cherry and cocoa flavors have instant appeal, as does the velvety texture. Though not deep, this is enjoyable. Closes easy, with cocoa and mild spice notes. Drink now–2004. 1 Note

Mederaño White Blend -2001 (WE-19185)

Light mineral aroma; tastes like mineral water with an undercurrent of citrus. It's spritzy in the mouth—the vinous cousin to lemon Perrier. 1 Note

Mederaño Red Blend -2000 (WE-19186)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

This tinto is good, but doesn't leave much of a lasting impression. Offers vague black fruit, oak and earth aromas and flavors, from beginning to end. Suitable for casual circumstances. 1 Note

Osborne Tempranillo Blend -1999 (WE-13040)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

Striving for complexity with plenty of cedary, toasty wood over cherry fruit, this Castilian Tempranillo–Cabernet blend aims high. It falls short of its aspirations, turning lean and somewhat astringent as green tobacco, herb and puckery, tart red fruit flavors take over. Finishes short and slightly raspy. 1 Note

Infinitus Tempranillo -2006 (WE-71439)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

Deep purple in color; this is a classic young grapeball across the bouquet, with sweet candied fruit aromas. The palate is plump and full of youthful blackberry flavors, while the finish is moderately chewy and substantive. Not a finesse-driven wine by any means; but good if you like simple, forward fruit character. 1 Note

Osborne Tempranillo-Cabernet Sauvignon -2003 (WE-47055)

Most Recent Tasting Note:

Profile Image

With some leather, bramble and smoky dark fruit, this Cabernet-Tempranillo blend scores as an everyday steady. But to take it farther brings caveat emptor into play. Flavorwise, it’s got nice cherry and raspberry, and the finish deals vanilla and chocolate. Pleasant in every way. Imported by W. J. Deutsch & Sons. 1 Note
