Soft and fruity, with a broad, grapy personality. Cherry, raspberry and hard candy in the mouth, with carob and coconut from oak later on. Not many extra gears on this one. Imported by Five Star Imports. 1 Note

A bit dense, with prune and mint aromas. Limited in scope and depth; what's here is deep but monotone. Flavors of boysenberry and black plum are heavy and soft, while chocolate brings up the rear. Short in structure and tannins, but dense enough to match a rich weeknight dinner. 1 Note

A big, young grapey mound of dark fruit is how best to describe this violet wine that's so candied and gummy it's like pressed black fruit and little more. Very dark but shows little to no character or depth. 1 Note

Opens with inviting green apple aromas before delivering citric, lemony flavors on a surprisingly soft frame that isn’t overloaded with scouring acidity. All this means the wine is ready to drink now; it has decent fruit with hints of lime and mineral. 1 Note

Aromas of fresh-squeezed orange juice and chewable children’s vitamins attest to the fact there’s no oak to be found. Along the way are soft citrus and melon flavors, and a chalky but thin finish. 1 Note

From a subsection of Curicó; sweet on the nose, with light vanilla. Heavy on the palate, with basic citrus and little else. Acceptable white wine in a field of thousands. 1 Note

Yellow Delicious apple and melon aromas start it off in a fruity direction, and the palate shows peach and pear flavors. With no oak, there’s no butter, toast or resin to speak of. There is, however, a sugary almost Riesling-esque quality to the wine. All in all, it’s unconventional but pretty good, with a nice bolt of acidity keeping it wide awake. Imported by T. Edward Wines. 1 Note

Apple juice aromas don’t hold it together for long, and the palate is spritzy and acidic. Apple cider and a touch of vinegar and citrus are the flavors. Not the type of Chardonnay we can recommend. 1 Note

From the full-bodied, full-color school comes this ripe, willing red. It’s heady and loaded with black cherry and chocolate flavors, while the succulent finish is bold, chewy and laden with fudge. Not intellectual but big in fruit and flavor. 1 Note
