Our Albion wines, with the abalone shell distinctively displayed on the label, exude the special quality of grapes grown in coastal regions. Like the elusive and rare abalone, with its iridescent, mother of pearl shell, and ever changing colors, our Albion wines are desirable blends and varietals that reflect complex layers of flavor for you to savor and share with family and friends. This North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon is blended with around 6% each of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The wine was blended early in order to let the flavors marry completely. This Cabernet Sauvignon was aged in large oak casks for 3 years to slow the aging process and further mellow the finished wine. This wine will age well for 3 to 5 years. This 2005 Albion North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon has generous amounts of cherry, cassis and vanilla with a small amount of moist tobacco and earthiness to accent the nose. There is also sweetness in the aroma similar to molasses. The mouth-feel is rich with plenty of oak and vanilla flavor to satisfy your palate. The finish is long and fruity with just a hint of tannin. Enjoy this wine with roasted lamb, pork loin, rosemary red potatoes or blue cheese. 1 Note

Dark purple in color with aromas of blackberry jam and spices. It’s full-bodied, jammy, and rich with black currant and blackberries, with underlying tones of spice and a vanilla finish. The finish was moderately lingering with a pronounced currant after-taste. The tannins were smooth and velvety. Mirassou captures the essence of California’s popular Cabernet Sauvignons at an unbeatable price and quality. Along with Bogle, Gnarled Vine, Muirwood, and Angeline, Mirrasou is one of the top five Cabs (in my book) that belong on the table at parties, dinner parties, and social events; $8

Extremely straightforward; not complex. Nose of plum and cherry and the faint characteristic of caramel. Clear ruby color.

Light-bodied, fruity, and super smooth.

Feel like I could chug the bottle.

Best as accompaniment with hearty, complex dishes where the wine serves more as an accent than as a partner.
