I enjoyed this wine on my birthday at A16 in SF (thanks Alyssa!) What an incredible wine! This first growth is wonderfully complex with soft tannins lightened by its 14 years of age. Nice acidity and earthyness and tight finish. 4 Notes

A juicy extracted CA Pinot Noir. Smooth fruit flavors of cherry and plum. A prefer a slightly more delicate Pinot but this was still tasty. 4 Notes

This wine was a Christmas present from my brother, and I wanted to open it with friends who I knew would appreciate it. We had it over this past weekend at Chez Spencer in San Francisco, and it paired nicely with my venison as well as their filet dish.

I got barnyard and mushroom on the nose. It was elegant and well balanced, and still has plenty of fruit. Soft tannins with hints of tobacco, blackberry and plum with a long and pleasant finish.
