I Greppi Greppicante is made from a vineyard close to Sassicaia, but sells for a lot less. A full bodied wine with lots of aroma and raspberries, the 2006 recently notched a 91 from Wine Spectator. While its drinkable now, a few more years in the cellar will definely improve it. I Greppi sells another label a bit more expensive than this one but you will not be disappointed with this offering. You should be able to find this wine for less than $25 1 Note

An earthy big Pinot from New Zealand, bursting with fruit, with a touch of citrus almost. 1 Note

First Chinese red wine experience: not so great. Maybe it sat on the shelf too long, but the taste was off and the body was far too thin. Would like to experience a better Chinese wine at some point. 1 Note

This is a fantastic example of Spanish Monastrell. Great earthiness without being too overpowering. Give it some time to air out and it will be easy to drink and smooth on the finish. Bodegas Juan Gill produces really exciting vintages.
