Corte Giara Pinot Grigio-2008 (SL-A1118)

This white wine was tasted at the 80 Sip Challenge kick-off also, and I enjoyed it alot. This was my Italy choice to taste, and being a fan of Pinot Grigio,I had to try this.It tasted very light, with a green grape flavor that did linger a little afterwards, which was good.I felt it had alot of flavor, yet it was light, and would not suggest using this wine for a full meal, but rather for appetizers, cheese and other like items.

super concentrated with wild strawberry flavor, sweet and bubbly but with enough acidity to make drinkable and refreshing. slightly viscous. 1 Note

This wine is pale green-yellow,and has citrusy and hints of strawberry notes upon the scent as well as the tasting. It is very smooth, and it's more on the strong bodied side as far as the tasting palate. It is an enjoyable wine, and is definately fruity throughout it.The combination of Pinot noir and chardonnayworks very well in this combinations wine.

Nothing on the bottle indicated this PINOT GRIGIO would be sparkling! I buy Pinot Grigio when I crave a cool, sweet refreshment not a dry bubbly. 1 Note

The Chook Shiraz -0

The Chook Sparkling Shiraz (Yes, Sparkling Shiraz) was quite a surprise to me. When the waiter at Capital Grille started us off with this “aperitif,” I was suspicious. I was happy to learn after the first sip that it was quite satisfying after all. You may laugh, but I kind of thought of it as a red wine soda. Anyway, it was a rich, flavorful, and fruity concoction of red fruit jam such as raspberry and strawberry. It would go well with a nice fruit tart, or other fruity type desserts, or try it solo as an after dinner relaxer. Recommended; $15

I triedthis one alsoat the 80 Sip Challenge kick-off,and thought it made a very good wine-especially for the price. It has a nice blend of citrus, spiciness, and cherry notes. It's not too strong and I thought it was very smooth both during the tasting, and as it went down.No strong aftertaste as some may have, although the flavors do linger in your mouth.
