Made from Pinot Meunier, which is widely planted in Champagne, this is a robust, somewhat rustic or country-style wine. This Pinot is full-bodied and packed with red and black wild-berry fruit. It’s nicely dry, with soft tannins, and goes down easy. 1 Note

Rarely seen as a varietal wine, this Pinot Meunier is reminiscent of a sturdy, earthy Pinot Noir. The same pie-cherry and chocolate flavors are there, nicely scented with new oak, but the acids are a bit higher, and the finish tightens up. A great wine for salmon. 1 Note

I have never understood Handley’s interest in this variety as a still wine, whatever it is, because it’s never produced a very interesting wine. This one is earthy, dry and acidic, and the finish is peppery and hollow. 1 Note

Classic, go-to Sonoma sparkling crowd pleaser. Not too sweet, nice rich body and smooth finish. And of course that beautiful bottle :-).

This grape is most commonly associated with Champagne, though David Lett established it as a varietal wine at Eyrie decades ago. From a young vineyard, this is deceptively light in the glass, yet the wine has grip and the flavors have follow-through. Spice, pomegranate, wild berry—all in a surprisingly lengthy wine whose flavors linger generously. 1 Note
