A fabulous value in the under-appreciated Semillon-Sauvignon Blanc category, this spicy white is lively, fresh and highly perfumed, with notes of tangerine and orchids that give way a medium-bodied palate redolent of orange flower. There’s well-defined acidity and citrus notes on the dry finish, suggesting a complement of lighter fish dishes. Drink up. 1 Note

Mostly Sauvignon Blanc, with 10% Sémillon, this graceful wine opens with some sharp, grassy and grapefruity scents, then softens up a bit, with a textural middle that hints at sage, melon, smoke and herb. Huge improvement over the 2006. 1 Note

A 50-50 blend, with aromas and flavors of green pea, mineral and citrus. It’s a fresh, crisp wine, but don’t let the Sauvignon component bring visions of puckery, zesty New Zealand editions to mind. Nope. The Sem is an equal partner, adding both heft and a musky, haylike accent. It’s nice to see value-priced wines from somewhere other than South Eastern Australia, too. 1 Note

Grassy and herbal, this is a slightly pungent rendition of the classic white Bordeaux grapes. It’s simultaneously herbaceous and stony, lacking a bit of flesh in the midpalate, but would serve well to wash down raw oysters. 1 Note

This blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon results in a fat, soft style of wine. It definitely needs food, where its apples and cream flavors will fit well. The finish is crisp and attractive. Screwcap. 1 Note
