Aggressive on the nose, with white grapefruit and scallion aromas. There’s some lemon-lime and lychee to the flavor profile, but it finishes mildly bitter, with a heavy whack of citrus peel. Imported by CIV/USA. 1 Note

Light- to medium-bodied, and crisp, this pineappley, wine also suggests pear, citrus and quince. Finishes long, tart and mouthwatering—a worthy apéritif. 1 Note

Candle wax, vanilla, and a foxy, wet-animal aroma define the nose. Starts off spicy and racy but doesn’t hold the pace. Finishes creamy and modestly thick. 1 Note

A better effort than in previous years. This vintage has a tangy personality and no tricks up its sleeve. The pineapple and citrus flavors are solid and the finish holds onto the Verdejo’s citrusy profile. Steady and clean all the way through. 1 Note

The orange, apple and hay notes here taste slightly mature, but have character and appeal. Medium weight, with a faintly viscous feel, the wine finishes dry and smooth. Verdejo generally shows better younger and brisker, but this is still good current drinking. —M.M. 1 Note

Typical for the region, and nicely done for the price. Apple and almond aromas yield to citrus and passion fruit, while the palate deals peach, melon and citrus flavors. There is nothing special or out of the ordinary here; the wine is clean, tasty and textbook. 1 Note
