Very fresh and sprightly nose, green grasses, lots of vanilla and new oak, fresh sweet fruit aromas, touch of minerals, but light and narrowly defined at this time; tight and inwardly focused at this time; lots of lemon and citrus fruit, strong presence of lemon peel with its slightly bitter tones; big flavors and bold strokes, but the wine at this early stage lacks the complexity and diversity to make it interesting; lots of energy though. Very much in the style of this wine, the nose is rich and ripe and shows lots of honey and vanilla notes, herbs, hint of smoke, quite perfumed and exotic; sweet and smooth in the mouth with lots of ripe fruit; very rich but with a core of intense acidity that keeps the wine from becoming flabby; balanced at the end with hot and spicy notes; very much like a painting of bold primary colors. Sweet nose, very perfumed with a touch of honey, the usual presence of vinyl and rubber on the nose, sweet spices; sweet but tight in the mouth; seems unwilling to loosen the flavors; has an annoying metal flavor that adds to the austerity of this wine; I expected more; a short finish that is a bit flat and bitter. The nose has lots of sweet fruit aromas mixed with spices and sundry green herbs, hints of beeswax; ripe and sweet in the mouth with enough layers of flavor to overcome the initial flat taste; with more time in the glass, the wine turns away from sweetness in favor of strong lemony flavors that carry a dry acidity with them; the finish drops off quickly; finishes slightly clunky and with a noticeable hint of mustiness. An unusual wine to say the least, as one does not get to taste these wines with age on them; darker color of course, but rich nose with strong butterscotch and honeyed fruit aromas, sugary, caramel-laced aromas; sweet in the mouth, but the wine is flat and seems to skitter along the surface of the palate; there are a fair amount of lemon-flavored elements in the wine, but they are now somewhat tired and struggling to maintain freshness; still all-in-all a good wine for its age.
