Made by the family that owns the great Château de Beaucastel in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, this is pleasant, fruity and one of the great bargains of the Rhône. Though not overly complex, it has a surprising amount of flavor and the ability to go well with anything on your palate. 1 Note

As the label states, this is a blend of 75% Syrah, 25% Grenache, 0% Cork. The slickly packaged, screw-capped wine is young and grapy, featuring bright bouncy fruit accented by peppery spice. Perhaps because of the vintage, it’s rather light, yet shows firm tannins on the finish, making it a burger wine for drinking over the next year or so. 1 Note

This clean, neutral white wine features modest aromas of apples and limes, a plump mouthfeel and a stony, citrusy finish. Try it with fish stew, sometime during the next several months. 1 Note

Smells really nice, with bubbly Grenache fruit making a strong statement on the nose, but falls off a bit on the palate. Ripe and pleasant, bursting with black cherry fruit, just lacking concentration and length. 1 Note
