This wine has a pale straw color with abundant apple, citrus and mineral aromas. There’s a faint nutty, almond skin taste in the mouth and refreshing acidity. The wine underwent soft pressing, cold controlled fermentation and refinement in stainless steel. Imported by Masciarelli Wine Co. 1 Note

The nose is more neutral than other Trebbianos from the same vintage but it does offer a pretty embroidery of fresh fruit, nut and dusty mineral. Lean and somewhat watery in the mouth, the wine closes on a tart citrus note. 1 Note

This is an herbal expression of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo with aromas of dried grass and dandelions. There’s not much fruit but there are bitter spice tones of clove and nutmeg that could work with Mexican or other spicy foods. 1 Note

Spicy, fruity and nicely rounded, this wine boasts great flavor intensity without the sharp points sometimes associated with Montepulciano. It’s an easy, approachable wine perfect for everyday dining with solid tannins and good length. 1 Note

If you are not familiar with the hearty Montepulciano grape variety from central Italy but adore modern, structured, New World reds, you should considered adding this wine to your weekly shopping list. Thick in power, extracts and color, Montepulciano has rock-solid tannins and blockbuster aromas of blackberry, prune, chocolate, spice and toast that appear naturally, even without wood aging. This is a big value wine that should pair with a big value meal of barbecued baby back ribs in smoked sauce and spicy potato salad. 1 Note

Here is a wonderful, masterfully made wine that Gianni Masciarelli has dedicated to his wife Marina. This expression of the hearty Montepulciano grape showcases soft cherry nuances backed by spicy, wood, deep succulence and a long finish. 1 Note

This is a beautiful expression of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo that straddles a fine line between being traditional and modern. Natural fruit tones come through and are not overburdened by oak, although nice shadings of spice and vanilla do appear in the background. 1 Note
