Big and mouthfilling, this Chard has honey and citrus flavors on the palate, and a nose that combines steely, floral-and-anise aromas. A little hot on the finish, but still a good value. 1 Note

The nose offers hot, fresh green-herbal scents, plus a bit of butter and pear. Oak shows on the mouth, as does the expected creaminess that comes with barrel fermentation. Finish is slightly oaky, with a hot, tingly sensation that’s reminiscent of mouthwash. A simple, slightly antiseptic wine. 1 Note

This decent entry-level Merlot has mild berry and cocoa aromas and flavors and just a hint of an herb note. The even mouthfeel and fairly smooth finish make it an attractive, easy to drink wineæand it tastes like Merlot, rather than an indistinct red. 1 Note

There’s a lot going on in this simple Cab-Shiraz. Aromas of earth, cherry and Sweet Tarts pave the way for white pepper, plum and fresh cedar on the palate. Medium-full, with nice balance, the wine finishes with a zippy (but not too hot) black pepper note. An easy mainstream sell. 1 Note

Aromas of black cherry, mocha and dried herbs prepare the palate for the crisply defined black cherry, plum and herb flavors that veer toward tomato at times. This is a crisp, medium-bodied Merlot, with a tart, clean finish. 1 Note

Not what you expect from an Australian Sauvignon Blanc, the Oxford landing is harvested quite early, resulting in aromas of grass, grapefruit and cat pee rather than tropical fruit. It’s bone-crackingly crisp and light on its feet; a cost-effective choice for fans of Sauvignon Blanc. 1 Note

Easy to drink yet a bit interesting as well, this is a top-notch Chardonnay bargain. Features hazelnut and melon on the nose, then adds pineapple and vanilla to the mix on the palate before ending with a hint of white pepper. Drink now. 1 Note

A remarkable value, Oxford Landing’s GSM is a convincing argument in favor of blending. It offers a complex mélange of leather, spice and cherry notes, medium body and a fresh, vivacious finish. Considering it can probably be found for around $80 per case, this would make a great everyday wine for drinking over the next year or so. 1 Note

Here’s a restrained, woodsy interpretation of Cabernet Sauvignon at an accessible price point. It’s crisp, with good berry fruit in the mouth and a short finish of barely ripe raspberries. Drink up. 1 Note
