Very green. Weedy, legumey notes on the nose are offset slightly by cream and flour. Lima bean and tart citrus notes prevail in the mouth; finishes with tart, lime-rind, stone and herb notes. 1 Note

Oy. I know this Gewürtztraminer (56%)–Riesling (44%) is the sweetest wine in the Diamond Label series, but, having tasted it blind, it still managed to shock my palate. Offers aromas of canned peach juice and pineapple, with sweet, simple tropical fruit on the palate. Soft, with a little spritz. Imported by Southcorp Wines. 1 Note

Is this Australia’s answer to Beaujolais? The sweet black cherries are accented by tart red berries fore (on the nose) and aft (on the finish). Some sweet caramel flavors and negligible tannins make this easy to gulp. Best Buy. 1 Note

Bright fruit, zesty acidity, and soft but adequate tannins mark this enjoyable wine. The aromas and flavors are jammy and young, suggesting heaps of newly picked blackberries. It’s dry, and finishes a bit rough and strong. Might even improve with a year or two of age. 1 Note

A tasty white, with wide yellow fruit (citrus, plus some tropical fruit) flavors that extend to the back end. It smells as it tastes—it’s not complicated, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not good. 1 Note

Though it’s 51 percent Chardonnay, this blend still retains a clean, angular mouthfeel that speaks more of its Sémillon component. Pear, buttercream frosting and toast mark the bouquet; in the mouth, a bit of cream keeps the green apple and lemon-lime flavors from being too tangy. Citrus pith flavors brighten up the back end. Best Buy. 1 Note

Loads of peach and tropical fruit aromas make for a super-sweet nose—a sneak preview, really, of what’s to come on the palate. Bright apple, peach and honey flavors play in the mouth. Sweetness tapers off on the finish, where mineral notes take over. Will win fans among novice enthusiasts and white Zin fans. 1 Note
