Fairly firm and leathery, with an herbal/green streak running through the bouquet. Tangy as a whole, with cherry fruit and a smack of bell pepper. Tart on the back end, with drying tannins. Not dissimilar to a weak-vintage Cru Bourgeois Bordeaux. 1 Note
This is one of Chile’s best Chardonnays. It’s made in the deep south of the country, where it’s very cool. The result is a zesty, acidic wine, but one with a lot of tropical flavors such as pineapple, lemon and melon. From deep in the south of Chile comes this small-lot Chardonnay, surely one of the country’s most interesting white wines. Felipe de Solminihac gets fruit from his in-laws’ vineyard to make this snappy, lemon-tinged wine, which also delivers apple, melon and citrus. Balanced and unique. 1 Note
