Where did you grow up?

            Buffalo, NY

 

First time you remember drinking wine?

            Probably 15 or 16.

 

When did you start to like wine?

            My thirties.

 

Where do you drink wine mostly?

            Cocktail parties and with dinner.

 

What are your favorite types of wine? Varietals? Regions?

I generally like light, fruity white wines.  Riesling, Chardonnay, Gewurtztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, or Semillon, from France, California, Austria and New Zealand. Some of my favorite are Te Awa Sauvignon Blanc, Conundrum, Hundred Acre Gold, and Protero Viognier.

 

What are your favorite kinds of food?

            Italian, French, Chinese, classic American….

 

What are your favorite restaurants?

Four Seasons,  ‘21’, Primavera, Chin Chin, Gramercy Tavern, and Nations Café (our local diner), all in New York

 

What is your favorite wine and food pairing?

I like white wine with everything!  I am unconventional and proud of it.  So I’d say sirloin steak and white zinfandel, even though my daughter will cringe.

 

Do you cook? If so, what kind of food and for whom?

            Seldom – mostly breakfast for myself.

 

If you were stranded on a desert island, what type of food/wine would you choose to have?

            Swordfish or steak, with Sauvignon Blanc or White Zinfandel

 

What are your favorite wine memories?

            That’s classified.

 

Do you have any wine-related disasters?

            Ordering white zinfandel in front of my daughter!

 

Which are your favorite Bottlenotes wines?

Anything Kim and Alyssa send me! All the ones I have gotten in my club shipments are great.  Te Awa, Protero, Dry River, Arietta….

 

What is your motto for enjoying life?

            Semper fi!
