Around the globe the army of Vayniacs is multiplying. Their leader—Gary Vaynerchuk—has risen to fame and fortune (with his recent $1MM book deal!) in the wine industry. But it wasn’t easy for Gary, who has appeared on Conan O’Brien and the Today Show, as he’ll tell you—it takes a lot of hustle and a love for what you do. That is his credo.
Gary Vaynerchuk started as a good old Jersey Boy working at his family’s retail store called Wine Library. On his own volition, and way ahead of the Web 2.0 movement, he created Wine Library TV, his very own channel where he offers up a daily video of himself tasting 2-10 wines, delivering his real-time impressions. His style is brash and his palate excellent. Gary’s iconoclastic style is comedic (aka: biting a lemon on Conan) – but his goal, like The Daily Sip’s, of demystifying wine and educating consumers about wine, is one we admire.
To see if you’re Vayniac material go to www.winelibrarytv.com and watch Gary in action.
To get a somewhat tamer view, and hear a little bit more about the man in his own words, listen to Gary Vaynerchuk’s podcast interview with Bottlenotes’ CEO Alyssa Rapp or Gary Vaynerchuk's wine lifestyle Q&A (his favorite style of wine and more is revealed!).
