There are those who spend their lives trying to build a single wine that is lauded and respected as one of the world’s best. But the Huneeus family has quietly built a whole portfolio wines that are among the finest.

Having grown up in the vineyards of Chile and California, “drinking wine mixed with water” accompanying his father on business trips, it is no surprise that Agustin Francisco has followed in his father’s footsteps, becoming a leader in the U.S. wine industry. Agustin Francisco, has helped continue the family’s legacy of building or buying some of the world’s most acclaimed wines. The Huneeus family founded Quintessa, a revered Napa Valley estate, and are also the owners of Veramonte in Casablanca Chile. Most recently, the Huneeuses have added Flowers Vineyards & Winery, Faust, and as of this month, Orin Swift and their critically acclaimed The Prisoner, to their portfolio.

Agustin Francisco's success in the wine business has given him a great "joie de vivere." Drinking wine with almost every dinner, he enjoys making Chilean steak sandwiches for his four daughters and looks back fondly on vineyard mishaps—most notably crashing a truck into a row of Cabernet before he was legally allowed to drive.
