Information on wine is scattered around the Internet, and sometimes it’s hard to know whom you can trust. When you’re looking for advice (in addition to The Daily Sip™ of course) on what to drink or where to imbibe, we recommend you turn to someone who really knows his stuff. Perhaps even a doctor....Dr. Vino that is.
Tyler Coleman (aka Dr. Vino) was born and raised in Chicago, where his first impressions of wine came at a Thanksgiving meal when he managed to sneak a sip of sparkling Catawba. Since then, it’s been all uphill. In college he “splurged” on an occasional bottle of Kendall-Jackson to enjoy with his future wife (he’s still grateful it impressed her). Shortly thereafter, his wine hobby led him back into the world of academia.
Dr. Vino is no Doogie Houser—he’s a real life wine doctor, having completed a dissertation on the political economy of the wine industry in France and the United States. Tyler’s website, drvino.com is one of the most trafficked wine blogs in the world and offers recommendations on value buys as well as a “look at the world through the wine glass.” A published author of two books about wine, Tyler has proven his ability as a writer. In 2007, he was awarded Best Wine Blog and Best Wine Writing at the American Wine Blog Awards.
