Gone are the days when Harry Potter captured our imagination; we have arrived in the Age of the Vampire. We at The Daily Sip™ anxiously await the return of Tru Blood on HBO this Sunday and the Twilight sequel (currently being filmed in Italy). Now we have even found the perfect wine to accompany our guiltiest of pleasures: some literal Blood of the Vine.
Introducing Vampire Vineyards (www.vampire.com), whose website states that they are rumored “to be owned by a circle of vampires.” They began producing wine in 1988 with an Algerian Syrah and later moved their production to Italy. Eventually, Vampire Vineyards imported wines from the legendary land of vampires, Transylvania, as their “Blood of the Vine.”
In 2006 Vampire Vineyards moved production to a vineyard in Paso Robles, California where they produce and grow their Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Syrah. Have no fear, they still import some wines from vamp hotspots around the world, namely Transylvania.
At as little as ten dollars per bottle, why not sip some real-world Tru Blood along with your favorite vampire series?
If nothing else, checkout their totally vamped out site.
