Need a little Inspiration this tax day?
Sometimes in life you gotta take risks. Ok, not on tax day. But the story for Inspiration Vineyards is one we found uplifting - and thought you might too.
Jon Phillips decided he wanted to follow his life’s dream of becoming a winemaker. To do so, he and his wife Barbara bought a small vineyard in Sonoma county, dotted with a handsome yellow house, over which hot-air balloons fly, and can be seen on their wine labels. Over multiple years, Jon continued to work his day job in technology for the City of Sonoma to pay the bills, and by night and weekend, worked as winemaker. The hard work has paid off, and this year Jon turned winemaking into his full time job.
The Daily Sip™ wine of the week is the Inspiration Vineyards Russian River Valley Chardonnay - 2007. This is a crisp and refreshing Chardonnay that offers both minerality and lovely, apple, grapefruit and white peach fruit flavors. Racey acidity, a hint of oak and a $22 price tag make this a wine we'll open with dinner or just enjoy on its own this spring and summer. Only 190 cases produced so get it while you can.
