93-95 A rich wine, full-bodied in character, the acidity hiding behind the ripe fruits. Concentrated and structured, the spice coming through to dominate.

A big success, this a wine that manages to combine the ripeness of Merlot fruit from 2005 with impressive tannins and power and still have structure and acidity. This should age well over 10 years.

87-89 Barrel sample. A wine that has a lean, austere feel to it, the tannins dry, dark. The other side is that the wine is all fruit, the wood in support only. The aftertaste is all fresh, black cherry fruit flavors.

It is the power that is so evident in this wine - a full, up-front expression of Merlot at its most powerful. It is somewhat closed up at this stage, but it is going to continue its development as an enormous wine which still manages to keep its power under firm control.

A wine that is all cassis, almost jelly-like in its sweetness. It is fresh, delicious on the surface, though there doesn’t seem to be much underneath.

Boasts ripe blackberry fruit aromas, touched by wood. The flavors are of firm black fruit skins, and dark dry tannins. The heart of the wine is a solid blend of acidity and dry fruits, with a fresh aftertaste.

92-94 Powerful and rich wine, full of ripe pineapple and peach flavors. The wine is smooth, toasty, concentrated. Immense ripe fruit.

A wine that certainly has excellent balance despite the wood that dominates the aromas. The flavors are dry, with tannins as the strongest element. What’s underneath the fruit is still waiting to show through.
