The 2010 growing season was long and unseasonably cool, resulting in an unusually late harvest. We hand-pick our Sauvignon Blanc grapes at three ripeness levels to retain as much acidity as possible, and to achieve a layered flavor profile including citrus and tropical fruit flavors. Stainless steel fermented, approximately 5% spends 4 months in neutral French oak barrels lending a creaminess to the palate and a long finish balanced against bright acidity and fresh fruit flavors. 100% Sauvignon Blanc. -Peju Winemaker Sara Fowler

appearance: above-average deepness, with a bright ruby color. nose: medium with aromas of raspberry, red cherry, earth (dirt), violet, and a hint of dirty feet (yes, i'm serious, lol) palate: dry with low acid with a medium body. flavors of plum, smoke, blackberry, dark chocolate and licorice. overall: an excellent wine that would pair very well with most meats. heavily driven by red/dark berries with a solid amount of firm tannin. the tannins are solid but not too heavy. the finish is fantastic and is a solid wine. i give this a 91.

appearance: a bit murky, with medium intensity and a ruby color. nose: clean with average intensity, and aromas of red berries, creamy strawberries, and hints of bluberries, and a wet leave/garlic component. palate: medium dryness with low acidity, decent tannins, average body, and flavors of raspberry, plum, tobacco, licorice, and cedar. the length is okay. overall: good color and mouthfeel. it was more closed than i expected it to be. the fruit is a bit bland, and it doesn't really excite me much. i think it would pair well with a variety of foods. overall, i thought it would look better than it does, but it's still decent. i give it an 88.

appearance: a bit on the dull side, with low-medium intensity, and a dark ruby color. nose: a clean nose with low intensity and aromas of raspberry, a bit of prune, and an overall musty sort of character. palate: relatively dry with low acid, and an average body. it has flavors of blackcurrant, plum, and eucalyptus. overall: for bulk winje, even this is pretty bad. it's an 04', and even now it hasn't opened much, if there was much to open to begin with. there are no strong flavors in this wine. it's very one-dimensional, and it's a bit lifeless. i give it a 79.

appearance: clear, with a medium-deep intensity, and with the color of purple-ruby. nose: this bottle smelled unclean, as if it was corked...so that's something to consider. it was intense on the nose with aromas of red berries, violet, cloves, and hints of strawberry. palate: off-dry, with low acidity, medium tannins, and quite a high body. with flavors of blackberries, plum, liquorice. it had a long length. overall: i think this bottle was a bit corked, so take this review with a small grain of salt. the red berries are undeniable, and the finish is decent. it's a bit on the bland side, but it's solid, and can be paired with a variety of foods. i give it an 87.

Further advances this county’s case for Sauvignon, with an exciting balance of lush, ripe fig, peach and apricot flavors, crisp acids and a long, spicy finish. Feels creamy and tart in the mouth, like a rich sorbet, and is very complex. Will be fabulous with a goat cheese and endive salad and a roasted chicken.

Delicate all around in body, texture and flavor. Shows cola, cherry, tobacco and spice, with silky tannins and those crisp Central Coast acids.

This is the first Port in six years that Prager declared a vintage, so you know they think highly of it. It’s pretty good, not great, but nicely sweet in blackberry and chocolate fudge flavors, with a good edge of acidity.

Dry, crisp and food-friendly, with grapefruit, lime zest and melon flavors accompanied by quite a bit of acidity. Shows strong Sauvignon character in a clean, bright package.
