By far my favorite riesling. Not an everyday wind due to price, but good for holiday dinners. Slighly crisp, with pale coloring. It has the right balance of sweetness and crispness.

Kestener Paulinshofberg - I usually like Spatlese Rieslings from Germany.  This winery was unfamiliar.  Very good wine.  Semi-Sweet.  Great fruit smell.  Inexpensive.  Wonderful find.

Number 2 in our Riesling blind taste test was Dr. Heidemanns-Bergweiller from the same region as Dr. Loosen, but the grapes are specifically from the Mosel area. For color we get lemon, amber (I don't think this person realized that amber is too dark to describe Riesling), and gold. All agreed the bouquet was light. There was one comment for crisp and the others went for elegant. All agreed this was the sweetest Riesling. The opinions for the different flavors were too diverse to sum up here, but EVERYONE agreed that this wine was quite complex overall. Comments toward balance tended to be harmonious, and the finish was everlasting for one, and lingering for the other two. With scores of 80, 85, and 88, this wine also did well with an average score of 84.

A group of us just conducted a blind taste test with Rieslings from Germany and France. First up was Dr. Loosen's Kabinett, which drew different opinions in color with straw, pale, and lemon. Everyone agreed the bouquet was light with pears. One added pineapple, and the other apple. Flavor intensity was a consistent "ample" with two agreeing it was elegant, while one said crisp. Two said it was sweet, while one remarked it was semi-sweet. Everyone agreed the balance was perfect, and the finish was long for two and one commented it was lingering. With two scores of 87 and one 78, the average score was a solid 84.

A light and clear straw yellow. Stone fruit on the nose. Crisp and smooth with some petrol notes and a touch of grapefruit on the finish, this is a servicable riesling from the MSR and a decent value at only $10 a bottle.

Love this vineyard designated riesling from my favorie German producer, Dr. Loosen. Crisp and light in mouth feel, I get peach, pineapple and tropical fruit with a nice mild touch of sweetness on the finish. This wine is a great pre-dinner drink, and would pair well with light pastas and whitefish style seafood.

Sweet flower aromas, smooth with fruit-forward flavor and soft acidity, crisp and refreshing with a clean finish. Serve well chilled on its own or with light chicken dishes and spicy cuisine.
