What a fascinating blend, this combination of Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay. The natural acidity of the Chenin gives a great, fresh mouthfeel, while the fat Chardonnay broadens out the palate. This wine is full, rich and packed with ripe grapes, yet with only 12% alcohol, there is still a light, fresh and white fruit-flavored aftertaste. The Grassa family, owners of Tariquet, are major landowners in this Gascony region of southwest France, with 2,100 acres under vine.

From selected parcels of the Bélingard vineyard, this is a firm and rich wine, with excellent concentration. The tannins are firm, dusty, broken by ripe plums and sweet acidity. The 18 months of wood aging shows in the polish of the wine. Age for another year.

Tariquet's answer to late harvest wines, this fine, ripe wine, with its layers of sweetness and intense acidity, would be a great accompaniment to pâté and terrines. Made from the south-west's Gros Manseng grape, which many locals claim is the unsung white grape of the future, this is a pure, fruity but complex wine.

Smooth, ripe wine, laced with acidity and green melon flavors, this is a purely fruity Chardonnay, without wood. It is young and fresh but has enough weight to give a dense, full finish, with some yellow fruit flavors. Screwcap.

An herbal Sauvignon that is fresh and on the lean side. The flavors are of crisp green apples, very fruity, with a structure of lime zest and vivid acidity on the finish. Screwcap.

Bone dry, almost shockingly so, but with the freshest acidity and crispest pure apple and citrus fruit. The flavor is tight, with intense fruitiness. Screwcap.

A delicious wine, the Chenin Blanc giving both mineral and spice flavors, contrasting with the richer Chardonnay. Apricot and sweet melon flavors are supported by a fine, surprisingly complex structure. Fresh currants mark the refreshing finish.

The richness of vintage 2003 shows in this wine’s layers of dried fruits on top of sweet tannins and a dense concentration. There is some licorice flavor arriving as the wine matures.

Made from a selection of vineyard plots and aged in new wood, this is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. There are soft tannins and fresh acidity along with some ripe but soft fruit. Ready to drink now, but could go another three or four years.
