Deep ruby color. Nose of cherries and oak. Mouth is tannic and hints of cherries. Opens up beautifully to notes of plum, chocolate, and oak. Great for price point. Light-medium body. Thin and crisp finish.

This is a great wine to enjoy while watching any guilty pleasure (aka Real Housewives of....) It's tasty, has a nice body and isn't to overpowering on its own. This would be very good with pork or any kind of Mexican dish.

Sometimes I find mass produced Malbec to be big, fruity, round and without character but this comes at you with a little more acidity than average providing balance. Smokey fruit on the nose. Bright plum, blackberry and raspberry flavors. Medium body. Worth every penny of $6.99 I paid for this wine on sale @ Southern Season in Chapel Hill.

This blend of mostly Malbec with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot opens up the senses with an intense dark cherry, earth, and slightly toasted oak flavor. It is very smooth. It only required about 30 minutes of aeration and the wine rolls around the mouth like velvet. Flichman only makes this wine on certain years depending on the weather and the state of the harvest (but not when the harvest is bad mind you). The vineyard is situated high in the Andes at 1100 meters lending to its intense dark fruit flavors. Highly recommended at $16.

This Reserve is really a terrific, luscious, and fruit forward Malbec typical of Mendoza, Argentina. I especially loved the pairing with my steak. Great dark fruit, velvety tannins, and a great value at $13. Highly recommended.

Soft, musty aftertaste and smell. Brownish red, glowing ruby when held up to a light. Pungent, narrow body, acidic, almost musty. Different than any wine I have tried. Sour, bitter, tingling and sharp. Cheap - $2.99. I took a chance because the label looked neat. (I know, don't judge a book by it's cover...but I always do!)

This is not one of the highly extracted, fruit-forward Malbecs increasingly found on the shelf. The Rutini is more restrained, better balanced -- almost French in its structure. An elegant Malbec, as it were. Black fruit, soft tannins, good acid. Very food-friendly.

Rich dark fruit flavors of blackberry and blueberry along with hints of tobacco, mocha and toffee. While this wine was velvety smooth, it lacked tannic structure and thus balance.

Daddy LIKE. This is a wonderfully complex wine with ripe fruit flavors of plum and dark cherry interwoven with layers of mocha, spice box, and sweet tobacco. Nice long finish. While full in flavor this wine is not overwhelmingly big in body. Soft tannins--well balanced--excellent.

This cab has grown on me with each sip. More French in style (the earthiness) than Californian. I also get some green notes to go with the pleasant bell pepper flavor.

Cicchitti Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon - 2005I think Cabs from Argentina are one of the best kept secrets in the great world of wine. They have the quintessentially Argentine smoke character, that distinctly earthy flavor- but they are generally more European in style with a subtler fruit-forward character than a Napa Cab. I am a big fan- think they offer great value. (7/10)

I am a big fan of Argentine wines these days- great value, robust flavors- tasty wines. Cicchitti Gran Reserva Malbec was no exception. Classic Argetine jam meets smoky earth. Perfect pairing for grilled meats. (7/10)
