The color was a deep, dark purple. Aromas of wild flowers and chocolate dominated the nose. Flavors of wild blueberry, licorice and chocolate dominated the palate and the tannins were chewy and smooth. For a young table wine, I was surprised at the complexity. We didn’t pair it with anything, but it was very good by itself. As a chocoholic, I was drawn into frequent sips just to taste its chocolaty flavors again and again. Looking for something tasty for under $10? Great bargain!

Clean light strawberry nose. Remarkable Rhubarb flavor and tartness. Switches from sweet to tart several times with each sip.

Overall, quite nice. A bit fruity, round and not over-powering or harsh. A good value at this price point. Abadia Retuerta produces its estate-grown wines in the Sardon de Duero, which is just south of the Ribera del Duero.

Slightly tannic, dry and a bit woody. Overall, a pretty mediocre, but drinkable wine.

This one was not my cup of tea. Heavy on the tannins which were a little overwhelming.

Really tasts like grilled sausage, perhaps even Brats- a surprising nose for a wine- but definitely gets you in the mood for tapas. A little leaner than I personally like in a Tempranillo.
