Very tart. Not at all fruity. Color was somewhat dull and nose was unappealling.

We had to pace ourselves -- we loved it so much. Fruity, crisp, refreshing

Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
This is one of the classic Rosés of the Loire valley; light and fresh nose, lots of strawberry aromas, sweet, touch of citrus; fresh and smooth in the mouth, a nice touch of sweetness; not too much though; refreshing with a medium body. (14/20)

Chateau d’Aquéria Tavel Tavel - 2003

Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
Although characterized as a Rhône wine, it is from the very southern end of the valley so properly qualifies as a southern wine; deep color, more intense than the wines from the Loire, made from a blend of Grenache and Syrah; sweet fruit, fresh apples, citrus fruit, spices and sweet aromas; first taste is very sweet and could be fatal, but then the wine takes on more balance and poise; good sense of lemons and green apples, grasses, herbs; a bit chunky but a perfect accompaniment to a seafood salad

Chateau Guiot Languedoc-Rousillon Costières de Nimes - 2004

Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
This wine is so young that it still seems to have the elements of the cellar defining its character; not an area that produces notable red wines, this is no exception; light nose, lots of sweet fruit and citrus, touch of minerals, but pretty two-dimensional; pretty much the same in the mouth; light fruit, pleasant enough, and great at a picnic, but you wouldn’t take it to the opera. (13/20)

I found this a bit heavy for a rose... perhaps because it's a Cab grape. Different and interesting, but not my favorite type of rose.
