fruit component is starting to fade as this wine hits maturity, but it’s still there and what you get from it is raspberry, cherry and strawberry. Supporting that triumvirate is drying oak that leaves vanilla and dill on the finish. More loose and less tannic than many, so it goes down easily.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Coconut and saline aromas fold in toast, berry and a whiff of green bean. This is a solid wine with a tight, semi-tart personality reflective of the cool, wet vintage that was 2002. So with decent berry, vanilla and tobacco flavors offset by a mildly scratchy mouthfeel, it is more of a success than a miss. Drink now. A Europvin, Christopher Cannan selection, Imported by multiple importers, including Michael Skurnik Wines.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Starts off with unusual aromas of sandalwood, bath oils and nail polish, and never does the bouquet find a true groove. But the palate is sturdy and the flavors of red plum, cherry and spice win you over once you get used to them. More unconventional than many Ribera fans might like.
