This Barolo from the La Serra vineyard in La Morra really hits all the right marks. The wine is rich, complex and enticing with aromas of cherry, mesquite, herbs, tar, earth and cassis. It’s elegant and traditional with a bright tonic finish. What’s really nice is that the wine is not too big. It’s just right.

Barolo La Serra shows a slight touch of overripe fruit with tones of strawberry or raspberry jam lavished over sweet spice layers of nutmeg and cinnamon. Given the wine’s warm and sunny disposition, it’s no surprise to discover its soft, opulent and succulent mouthfeel.

Neirane is a balanced Barolo with soft notes of cherry, black fruit and spice wrapped tight around a solid core of quality fruit. The wine tastes tight and tannic at this young age (it makes your mouth pucker) but it’s a very nice example of a beautifully made Nebbiolo.

Barolo Neirane (from the Verduno area of the Langhe, Piedmont) offers pretty Nebbiolo complexity with dark concentration and lasting aromas of vibrant fruit, dark spice, red rose and cherry cola. The wine presents a velvety, soft texture in the mouth with a sweet cherry aftertaste.

Sweet oak tones come to the forefront of this bright Barbera d’Alba and add tones of vanilla, chocolate and cinnamon spice. There is enough fruit here, however, to balance out the wood tones and the wine is smooth and rich in the mouth.
