Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A light, mildly stemmy and roasted Pinot with medium body and a solid mouthfeel. While not all that aromatic, the wine tastes of strawberry, raspberry and rhubarb, and there are accents of pepper and herbs along the way and on the finish. Shows good weight and color.

Clean and smooth, with vanilla and boysenberry defining the nose. Not a complex wine, but one made for everyday drinking; thus the plum and berry fruit is ripe and forward, while the finish is just toasty enough. Flawless even though it lacks sophistication. No high gears but still a good ride. Imported by Billington Imports.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
With attractive melon and other tropical aromas, this is a Torrontés that rises above the masses. It smells great and tastes like a pure blend of lychee fruit, tangerine and honeydew melon. The palate feel is smooth and round, and the finish is dry, clean and healthy. It’s everything that Torrontés should be. Drink now.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Simple aromas of fruit and wheat are touched up by toasted oak. Lemon, citrus and pear flavors vie for attention here, but nothing really stands out. It finishes on the spicy side, but with a sweetness that seems to come from residual sugar.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Some dusty, leathery aromas start this wine out, and the bouquet never matures beyond leaf and forest floor. Some sweet grapey flavors chime in on the palate, and that taste is something similar to sugar beets. The light cherry-tinged finish offers a bit of depth, but not much.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Heavy aromas of wood, dark chocolate and black plums get this uncommon varietal going. Chewy strawberry and chocolate run rough over the palate, and the finish is large and packed with coffee flavor. Fans of fruit balls may dig this, but if balance and complexity are what you’re after, keep looking.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Wood-driven spicy aromas dominate the bouquet, which offers too little fruit and only a hint of clove. Raspberry and red cherry flavors come before a dry, simple woody finish. Given the light, lean body weight of this wine, the oak comes on a bit strong and drying.

Floral and light, with encouraging aromas. Doesn’t have the glycerol of a Rhône Viognier, but shows nice apple and peach flavors in front of a lightweight but clean finish. Fairly bright and lively, and solid on the surface. Imported by Billington Imports.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Lots of red-fruit aromas send it out in familiar fashion, while the palate runs a bit zesty and acidic. This is not as soft and rich as in the past; the flavors rest on bright plum and cherry fruit with plenty of acidic kick. Solid but regular as Malbec goes, and probably in need of food to give the acids something to work on.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Saturated and extracted, with an incredibly deep purple tint paving the way for manly aromas of espresso, campfire and toasted coconut. The palate, meanwhile, runs a bit sweet, with boysenberry and plum. Soft on the back end, but with enough spine to see it through. For fans of bold reds.
