The 2008 Alana Estate Pinot boasts a perfumed bouquet that includes elements of rose petals and sandalwood to accent savory and black-cherry notes. The silky texture is also spot on; one just wishes for a little more flavor intensity and length. Drink it over the next few years.

Despite being based in Martinborough, Alana has managed to turn out an attractive Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc in a ripe style, with tropical and stone fruit notes delivered via a round, fleshy mouthfeel. It’s very easy to drink.

Lovely aromas of toasted nuts and lemon curd are backed up on the palate by hints of melon and citrus. This is an elegant, understated Chardonnay with a silky texture worthy of pairing with refined fish and chicken dishes. Drink it over the next 6–12 months.

Alana Estate of Martinborough sources its Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc has a diverse citrus spectrum, the palate is fresh and packs all the fruits that is typical of aromatic Marlborough Sauvignon. For those who appreciate the finest Sauvigonon Blanc.

Strong black cherry flavor and a little bit sweet on the palate, Slight medicine taste on the finish, but the kind of medicine I didn't mind taking as a kid. Fun and different if your used to California pinots.

Earthy cherry in color--medium bodied for a Pinot. Round fruit flavors but not jammy. Pretty well balanced but I prefer a slightly more refined style Pinot Noir.

Relatively full-bodied for a pinot. Certainly more new world fruit forward style. I taste plums, dried cranberries and raspberry.
