Here’s a pale peach-pink-colored rosé with a lively nose consisting of raspberry, almond blossom and grapefruit bubblegum aromas. That bubblegum or candy-like note is also evident in the mouth, and although this is not a sweet wine it almost smells like one.

Nero di Troia, a traditional grape from Puglia, has been deftly vinified to exalt its cherry, chocolate fudge and raspberry nuances. Delicate tea leaf, balsam and tobacco notes also appear thanks to 9 months of barrique aging. Pair with pasta, roasted red peppers, white meat and lamb.

Here is a different take on Negroamaro with green, almost unripe, notes that merge with sweeter tones of forest berry, smoke and coffee. Sour cherry flavors appear on the finish.

Here’s a robust and meaty red from southern Italy with generous aromas of black cherry, tea leaf, bramble and leafy greens and spice that denote the presence of Cabernet Franc. The wine is smooth, firm and modern, thanks to the addition of Merlot in the blend.

This is a very correct and easygoing Pimitivo from sunny Puglia that manages to be fruity and simple without being too sticky or heavy. In fact, the quality of the fruit really shows here and the wine awards aromas of blueberry, raspberry and exotic spice. There’s no pretense here, and that’s the point.

You’ll pick up an attractive smoked ham-like quality on the nose backed by blueberry, blackberry, lead pencil, crushed black pepper and licorice. The intensity is not huge, nor is the length, but it would make an excellent match to grilled meats and aged goat cheeses. A 55-30-15 blend of Nero di Troia, Montepulciano and Bombino Bianco.

Alberto Longo is a rising star in the Puglia region and this fragrant Falanghina is a good example of his talent - especially considering that Puglia is primarily known for its reds. Aromas of exotic fruit, almond, Golden Delicious apple and pear are backed by thicker structure due to the region’s sunny climate. Care has been taken to safeguard the variety’s floral nuances and clean acidity.

Light and easy with delicate aromas of pressed rose, jasmine tea and small forest berry, this is an easy drinking Negroamaro that would pair well with fried mozzarella or stuffed olives. It has sweet cherry flavors and a lean, bright finish.

Here’s a lush and thickly extracted Nero di Troia from sunny Puglia that delivers mature notes of black fruit, spice, tobacco and cola. The wine has loads of personality and a sweet side that comes forth as red rose and cherry but the tannins are solid and firm.

The bouquet here is very floral and intense: you’ll get jasmine, honeysuckle, sweet apple, mango and other exotic fruits. The wine tastes clean, sweet and dense and has fragrant flavors that accompany you glass after glass.
