Subtle on the nose, with restrained berry, cherry and citrus peel aromas. The palate is a little grabby but mostly fresh in its approach, with flavors of fresh berry fruit. Light and mildly candied on the finish. A no-brainer that’s easy as they come.

Shows peppy cherry, citrus and other short, angular aromatics, which is followed by a zesty red fruit flavor profile with a snappy mouthfeel. Dominated by cherry and raspberry, and on the finish there’s mild buttery oak and carob. Good wine; distinctly tight and red fruited.

Kind of hard, pasty and candied on the nose, with a thick and chunky palate feel along with sweet, sugary, generic red fruit flavors. Hailing from Patagonia, this is a basic, creamy Cabernet with body and size but not too much character.

Dark, full-throttle aromas of black cherry, candied plum and burnt something or other set up a straightforward, fairly full-bodied palate with mildly tart plum and cherry flavors. Basic; pretty good size and feel. More generic than varietal in overall character.

Iodine and jammy black-fruit aromas work the nose, while the palate is big but lacks sizzle. Flavors of blocky black fruits lead to a finish of chocolate and brown sugar, and overall it’s almost there but ultimately it comes across sweet, heavy and a little lazy.

Opens with slightly pickled apple and melon aromas. Next in line is an edgy palate of pickled apple and vinaigrette flavors. Very pithy and tasting of grapefruit late. Fairly heavy and aggressive for SB.

Smells largely neutral, with slightly earthy red fruit aromas. The palate is soft and creamy, what I’d call low in acidity, with mellow, mildly baked flavors of black cherry and chocolate powder. Finishes full and plump, but calls out to be drunk right away.

A roasted, leathery cap sits atop a bouquet of meaty berry fruit, leading to a somewhat burnt and brambly set of aromas. The palate, however, is quite fresh and edgy, with good acidity pushing lively red-fruit and mild vanilla flavors. Herbal on the finish, but sturdy overall.

Cherry, cough drop, mineral, heat and red licorice on the nose, with medicinal raspberry and plum flavors. Snappy and fresh in the mouth, with a rooty finish touched up by vanilla. Flavorful and properly executed, with a slight intrusion of cherry cough medicine.
