Though just 11% alcohol, this still feels vividly dry in the mouth. It’s less floral than many Rieslings, but brings dried herb, paper, dried apple and other fruits in a range of flavors with plenty of dry extract and concentration. A very fine autumn wine.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This organically grown Pinot Noir has all the right eco-friendly credentials but varies wildly from vintage to vintage, if not bottle to bottle. This 2006 is already on the down side; with no detectable fruit other than a watery cranberry flavor. Slightly spritzy, with a distinct vitamin pill scent.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This bottling offers a little more complexity than the rest of Amity’s 2006 Pinots, though it still seems quite light and relatively simple, at least for something labeled reserve. Cherry fruit and cola soda are the main flavors, lasting into a moderately long finish.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Moderately ripe, with decent varietal character, this light and tart single vineyard offering tastes of simple berry/cherry fruit, with hints of more herbal elements. The finish gets chalky.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
The winemaking is stainless steel all the way, and the wine delivers crisp aromatics that mix rose petals, citrus, peach and honeysuckle. It’s all very appealing, with a hint of spritz to add life and lift to the finish.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Amity has made a dry gewurz since 1977, and it is frequently a standout, but seems to have slipped a bit in this vintage. It’s soft and creamy, with ripe fruit flavors, but missing the snap and precision that makes the grape memorable.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A knockout wine, with beautiful scents of flowers and herbs, smooth flavors that are perfectly balanced between fruit and acid, and a long, glissando finish that demands another sip. 656 cases made.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Amity has made a dry Gewürz since 1977. This latest release is a little sweaty in the nose, the flavors somewhat attenuated, showing a soapy, floral character that turns metallic.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
An off-dry, delicious style, with plenty of good acid and just 10.5% alcohol. There’s an abundance of rich flavor, spice and texture to this wine, which wraps the taste buds in citrus zest, stone and hints of lemon candy. 958 cases made.
