Here’s a dry, crisp, apple-and-citrus Verdejo that’s stony and good from head to toe. In the mouth, it’s wet, juicy and biting, while the flavors of green fruits, lemon, celery, fresh lettuce and sweet bell pepper are tangy and fresh. Quite nice for a 100,000-case, $10 quaffer.

Nice and fresh, and definitely the best vintage of Analivia we’ve tasted to date. The nose bursts with floral aromas, apricot, apple and minerality, while the palate is clean as a whistle, with apple, tangerine and pineapple flavors. Slightly pithy on the finish, but that’s normal for Verdejo from Rueda.

Get at this wine while it’s still fresh and you’ll likely enjoy its pineapple, apple and mango essence. It’s a bit plump and oily in terms of feel, but overall it gets things right as it pours on the fresh pineapple on both the palate and finish. Imported by Luneau USA Inc. Best Buy.

Two years in a row this has been a subpar wine. Mealy nectarine aromas are barely adequate, while the palate is sour and finishes bitter. Not a foul experience, but unexciting and not really worth a look.

Not a lot to latch onto here. The aromas are sharp and sweaty, while the palate feel is more dull than it should be, while flavors of melon and pickled fruits are briney.

More soft and milky than exact or pungent, with bitterness intermixed with apple on the palate. Feels a little soft and bland for such a young Rueda white. Perfectly drinkable but uninspired.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
While we’d suggest waiting for the 2007 to hit the market, this softer-styled wine is showing mature melon, tropical fruit and bee’s wax aromas in front of mild citrus, lemon and pineapple flavors. It has a medium-weight body and almost a honeyed roundness. Drink now.

A bit overblown, with punch bowl aromas and flabby, semisweet grapefruit and tangerine flavors. Would be better if more steely and acidic; as is, it’s tasty and game, but maybe too full and round.
