Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Generic at best, with lemon and pool water aromas that aren’t about to stir many smiles. The palate is flat almost to the point of mushy, with dull lychee and green apple flavors.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Rubber and savory berry aromas lead it off. The palate shows good texture and overall smoothness, with round cassis and plum flavors. Very competent and solid on the finish, with toasty, warming afternotes and only a slight tannic grab. Textbook Malbec given the price range.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A little off at first, but time settles things down, and with patience the odd aromas of roast peanuts and rubber are replaced by familiar lychee and vanilla. Easygoing and plump, with lychee and melon flavors leading to a finish that’s persistent but slightly bitter.

Light from the beginning, with simple cherry, raisin and spice aromas. Somewhat hollow in the midpalate, with cherry and raspberry flavors. Finishes light; good enough but lacking body.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Dusty red fruit, cola and a touch of sourness make for only an adequate nose. It’s an easygoing red without a whole lot of true Tempranillo character. The raspberry and red cherry flavors are lean, with woody accents.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Murky and slightly chemical, with tart, bland flavors and a hard mouthfeel. Not much else to speak of.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Off the grid in terms of aromas, which hint at blueberry and candy but don’t seem right or familiar. The palate is grainy and jammy, with raisiny flavors as well as souring acidity. Herbal and then bland on the short finish.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Smells of Sherry and caramel, while the fruit is just okay at the core and weak around the edges. Finishes flat.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Prune and raisin aromas mix with leather to create a stewy, overripe whole. Despite the hefty aromas, there’s not much stuffing to this wine. It goes down trim, with little flesh or excitement.
