Smells like crushed vitamins, while the palate is crisp and lemony, with hints of green apple and spice. Not a bad wine in that it holds form all the way through. Seems just a bit resiny and grabby on the tongue. Imported by Broadbent Selections, Inc.

Rubbery and green, with heavy, weedy flavors and some heat. Turns toward barnyard as it opens up. Lacks pizzazz and probably won’t inspire.

Dry, lean and sawdusted on the nose, with vanilla aromas blending with simple plum and berry notes. Whole on the palate, with a creamy, mildly tacky feel, while the flavors of red fruits are regular at best and smothered with butter and wood resin. Solid enough but probably too woody given the wine’s weight and overall quality.

Floral fruit aromas and some crustiness give it a solid nose, and the palate of cherry, raspberry and plum is clacky but fresh. The feel is medium at best and grabby, with modest structure and crisp, light tannins. A simple wine for simple occasions.

A dry, lightly oaked wine with aromas of cassis and other red fruits. The palate is center of the road, with plum and berry flavors and tangy, lively acidity. A basic style of Cab with freshness and sincerity but nothing out of the ordinary.

There’s plenty of black fruit and power on the nose. The palate matches that aromatic intensity by showing tannic grab and body along with deep cherry, cassis and tobacco flavors. Finishes earthy and leathery, but with enough berry fruit and richness.

Solid but earthy and damp on the nose. The palate is more lean, fresh and sharp than you might expect, while the flavor grouping of herbal fruit, coffee, mocha and leather is normal for the grape type. Toasty on the finish, with a touch of bite and tang.

Though the nose (with acorny-oak and red berry aromas) is okay, I was left wondering where the concentration is—the dried herb and berry fruit taste watered down.
