Winemaker Alex MacGregor is doing great things up in Mendocino at Saracina, eldest Fetzer brother John’s 600-acre estate in Hopland, which also makes this Atrea red blend. Based on 43% Zinfandel, with lighter amounts of Syrah, Petite Sirah and Malbec, it needs some time to open up, though shows plenty of juicy ripe fruit now.

Crafted from organically certified Roussanne and Viognier grapes grown both by Saracina and other Mendocino County vineyards, this Rhône-style white blend has an inviting nose of peach and jasmine with a good balance between richness and acidity, a nice mingling of flavors and strong finish. Would pair nicely with a range of summertime foods.
