It was a little tricky to find any background on this wine. (Google "Truth Wine" and see what kind of crazy results you get.) But if you're just going to drink this, I think you'll be happy, especially if you're having it with a nice steak. I learned this is a Cabernet Syrah blend, and upon first pour, it has all the makings of a steak wine - it's dark purple, opaque, plum colored rim, looks heavy. From the nose, I get strawberries and some earth, maybe tree bark? And a hint of black pepper. I have a sip and it's a light texture, not as heavy as I thought. That black pepper makes its presence felt, it's all over the roof of my mouth. Bit of a drying finish, but that pepper flavor is what stays. I have it with some steak and it works perfectly. That peppery earthiness is a perfect complement. I found this at my local wine shop for around $20 so this may be my go-to steak wine.

Limited production wine made by Bob Egelhoff, big nose with lots of sweet fruit in the first whiff, then becoming more acidic and hard, lots of tar and woody scents, smoke and grasses; sweet in the front of the mouth, but quickly overtaken by hard tannins, dry and tough this wine is not ready for drinking yet; there is a deep layer of fruit underneath that should emerge with more time; finish is polished and balanced with nicely balanced citrus fruit; hard to rate now, but a well-made wine that should show better with a bit more bottle age. (17+/20)
