Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Dried grass and ripe melon come after initial rubber boots and pine resin aromas blow off. A likable wine with a full feel in the mouth and a backdrop of bitterness. The blend consists of Trebbiano and Grechetto, with a smaller component of Chardonnay. Imported by Vinifera Imports.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Fresh cut timber and woodshop aromas are distracting and ultimately leave a bitter taste that overpowers the wine’s lean consistency in the mouth. But lovers of oak-aged whites will have success matching this wine with cream-based dishes or smoked foods.

Umbria is an often-overlooked wine region capable of delivering many pleasing surprises. This Sangiovese Grosso-Cabernet Sauvignon blend, aged one year in oak, boasts clove, exotic spice, crushed black pepper and wild mushroom, all rounded off by a cool splash of bell pepper. Its tight tannins and succulence make it ideal to pair with red meat.

Here’s a thick and sweet-smelling Orvieto Classico Superiore (a blend of Grechetto, Procanico and a small part of Chardonnay) that sports a deep golden color and opulent aromas of butterscotch, honey, apricot, exotic fruit and toasted nut. The wine is extremely soft and succulent in the mouth with long-lasting flavors of apricot and almond.

Aromas are focused on cranberry and raspberry fruit, but there’s also a uniquely creamy quality that is offset by fresh fruit crispness. Drink with seafood, salads and light pasta dishes.

Perfect for light snacks, finger foods and aperitivo, this dry blend of Grechetto and Chardonnay (with smaller percentages of other indigenous grapes) is fresh, clean, crisp and tonic in the mouth. It drinks with ease and pleasure, glass after glass.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A dessert wine densely packed with aromatic intensity, flavor and texture. Deeply perfumed Moscato Bianco grapes are left to dry on the vine or on mats to concentrate intensity and notes of almond, honey and dried fruits.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Here is an extremely fragrant and buoyant Grechetto (with a small percentage of Chardonnay) that delivers bright tones of fresh flower, acacia, honey and white peach. It’s light, fresh and would be perfect to serve on a hot summer day thanks to its cleansing freshness.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
An opulent, honey-rich dessert wine that is sticky and chewy in the mouth with apricot jam, raisin, toasted almond and a long and satisfying finish. Morning fogs in the fall months create the perfect conditions for muffa nobile, or noble rot, that produces densely concentrated flavors.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Grechetto is one of the most important elements in the Orvieto Classico blend and this expression of the variety offers fresh sage, thyme and ripe apple. Most elements jive well, although high alcohol and bitterness are distractions. Imported by Vinifera Imports.
