Graves-like aromas of earth and tobacco laced with cassis are an instant hit; even the palate is Bordeaux-like, featuring a lean, chalky mouthfeel and drying tannins that demand cellaring. Age it one or two years and drink it over the next 3–5.

Simple, with sweet, mixed fruit and oak, this Shiraz is acceptable in casual, drink-me-now circumstances. Its price, however, will probably prohibit such casual consumption.

Though this Oz Shiraz is woodier than a log cabin, it shows some pleasant cherry flavors, and menthol, smoked-meat and smoke aromas. Otherwise, the nose is all oak; the palate and finish are tart and cedary.
