Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Look for the 2010 vintage of this wine, as the 2009 seems a bit tired now with muted notes of melon rind and lemon in the round mouth and a finish that shows a bit of heat.

A raw-edged wine, with dusty tannins and blackberry fruits and sawdust wood flavors that don’t quite gel, and some green asparagus flavors to finish.

There’s good density here. This wine shows plenty of ripe Merlot fruit flavors, jammy, lifted with dried fruits and blackberries. It’s a rounded, ripe wine, but shot through with a curious, unbalanced, very dry wood element.

Finely balanced, simple Sauternes with light apricot and honey flavors. With just a touch of botrytis dryness, the aftertaste is more sweet.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Early aromas are earthy, sort of like coffee grinds mixed with baked fruit. The palate hits with a dose of creamy milk chocolate, while later on berries and vanilla rise up. More of a plump, sweet and unctuous wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, Syrah and Cabernet Franc. Imported by North Lake Wines.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
The first vintage of this wine from the familiar Mouton Cadet brand. The mainly Merlot blend is soft, lightly fruity, not quite sweet, with gentle crushed strawberry flavors. A delicate aftertaste.

Shows some pleasant pear and pineapple aromas before easing into flavors of pear, quince and anise. It's only medium in body, but shows a flush of warmth on the finish. Drink now.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Very modern, with overt maple notes and plenty of black-fruit aromas. The toasty, tight bouquet oozes bitter chocolate and cassis, while the firm palate yields nothing but oak-enveloped plum and cherry. Needs two years to soften. From Baron Philippe de Rothschild and several Limoux-area growers known as the Vignerons du Sieur d’Arques.

Dark and firm, a hard wine marked by aromas and flavors of nettles, earth and tobacco. There’s some fruit in there but it’s buried under the enormous tannins. Yet the texture is polished and smooth, and the wine will work well against roasted beef or pork.

This is a nice sipping wine. It has pretty fruit flavors of apricots and nectarines, with a floral note, and it’s dry and clean, although soft. This would be nice with fresh fruit.
